Colon Cancer Screening
The IGO physicians recognize the importance of early detection of colon cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States. We work closely with the gastroenterologists at UCSD as well as several community gastroenterologists in order to help you schedule your colonoscopy. Screening is usually recommended beginning at age 50, but it may be recommended sooner if you have a family history of colon cancer. This is especially true if you have a relative who was diagnosed with colon cancer before age 60.

We would be happy to discuss this important test with you and refer you to a board certified gastroenterologist.
